What is Plug and Play?
Plug and Play is a global venture capital firm and accelerator that supports startups with innovative technologies and ideas alongside leading companies.
In 2019, Plug and Play has over 60 acceleration programs and has provided innovation to over 400 companies. Since our founding in 2006, we have accelerated over 2,000 companies and raised over $7 billion in funding. We also house over 500 startups at our Silicon Valley headquarters throughout the year.
Last year, 2019, we supported more than 549 startups at our U.S. headquarters and more than 1,450 startups globally through the program. Currently, the program has expanded to more than 30 locations in 16 countries around the world, and Plug and Play Japan was established in July 2017 as its Japanese branch.
What is Plug and Play’s accelerator program?
The accelerator program offered by Plug and Play Japan is a 3-month program (called “Batch”) that supports domestic and international startups to become global level startups with a focus on a “theme” such as industry with our partners. The EXPOs are a place to present the results of the three-month program on six themes, five in Tokyo and one in Kyoto. At Fall Summit 2020, which is the aggregate of the EXPOs for each theme, a total of 166 startups will be pitching over the six days! Don’t miss it!
